The Gift That Must Be Received
There’s a difference between knowing a gift exists and actually receiving it. You can admire it, talk about it, even believe it’s valuable—and still never make it your own.
Christmas is God’s invitation to the world. Jesus was given freely, but His gift must be personally received. As we reflect on the birth of Christ, we’re reminded that the greatest gift doesn’t change us until we respond to it.
“If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart… you will be saved.” — Romans 10:9
A gift can be offered, wrapped, and ready—but it still must be received. The shepherds didn’t just hear about Jesus; they went to Him.
Jesus offers forgiveness, salvation, and new life freely—but He never forces Himself on anyone. Christmas is an invitation to respond. To believe. To receive.
If you’ve admired Jesus from a distance, this is your moment to take a step closer.
Reflect:
Have you personally received Jesus, or have you only heard about Him?
Respond (Prayer):
“Jesus, I receive You today. I surrender my life to You.”
